Two Big Northern teams butted heads in a classic rivalry game between the Stillman Valley Cardinals and the Byron Tigers. Stillman, coming into this game 2-3 in the conference, needed a big win against their cross town rivals. Byron on the other hand, needed a win to improve to 4-1 in the Big Northern West division.
Stillman stuck with Byron the whole game until time expired and Byron took home the "W", 47-37. "We were right there the whole game," said Coach Lewis of Stillman Valley.
Stillman Valley, who is 7-9 on the year overall, took a tough loss to the cross town rivals. "We need to come out firing like we did in the first half, take care of the ball, and finish out the game," said Baker, a 6'6 senior forward.
"I told them the great Henry Ford quote, "Whether you believe you can or can't, you're right," said Lewis.
The Cardinals take on the Genoa Kingston Cogs Saturday night at Stillman valley for another Big Northern Conference showdown.
