FFA Tractor Day!
John Deere's and Internationals have arrived!
April 05, 2008
On Friday, April 4, the Future Farmers of America celebrated "Tractor Day" at SVHS. Normally, Tractor Day is connected with the week long FFA national festivities celebrated earlier in the year. However, since the weather was poor, Tractor Day was postponed until April 4.
Tractor Day encourages members of FFA to drive their tractors to school. In celebration of Tractor Day, the FFA drivers and their vehicles arrived in the parking lot at SVHS before school started and parked their vehicles in a line at the far end of the parking lot. It was an exciting opportunity for students, faculty and staff at SVHS to see tractor after tractor pull into the SVHS parking lot. The size of the tractors range from large to small.
At 1:45 p.m., the student farmers fired up their tractors and headed over to Highland Grade School for the Tractor Day parade. The parade was to offer the children at Highland an opportunity to see up close and personal, the various types of tractors.
Below is a slide show of all the different tractors that were driven to school. Click on the link to view the pictures.
Additional information and pictures are forthcoming.
