Business & Technology Classes at Work!

by Cathie Murphy

April 17, 2008

Are you ready for the Work World?

The Business & Technology Department offers a variety of classes for students to enroll in so that they can be better prepared for college and for entry into the work force. One of our primary concerns is that all students at SVHS are prepared for whatever job or career they choose. Today, there are very few jobs (if any), where employees do not need to know how to work on computers. With this being said, our department offers all students an opportunity to get a jump on technology and computers so that they are ready and employable employees in the future.

Courses range from mandatory classes such as Introduction to Computers, Consumer Education and Keyboarding, to optional courses such as SISCO, Web Design, P-Tech, JAVA, Business Basics, Accounting I and II, Web Page Management (School website), Principles of Web Design and Information & Software Systems I, II, III, and IV.

The more technology behind you, the more prepared you will be for the business world, whether you are planning to be a computer buff or a medical doctor. So, be smart!  Take as many computer and business classes as you can, especially if you are looking at business and technology majors and minors in college!

For more information on business and technology courses, see Mr. Shawn Lewis, Ms. Cathie Murphy, Mr. John Vos or your guidance counselor.
