On Sunday, May 20,  the graduates of Stillman Valley High School will proudly walk across the stage, signifying the completion of years of hard work by both the students and parents or guardians in pursuit of an outstanding goal – high school graduation. I would like to remind you that our Commencement ceremony is meant to signify a beginning, not an end. As the mission statement of Meridian Community Unit School District declares, it is our goal to create quality producers and community contributors. I implore our graduates to satisfy our mission statement as you leave our halls and enter the next stage of your lives.

Throughout this year I have been continually impressed with the behavior and maturity of our student body. The class of 2018 has demonstrated a maturity beyond its years and a level of student-leadership that does not commonly exist.  As we approach the end of the year, my expectation is that the excellent decisions you have made throughout the year will continue to define your behavior until, and throughout, the graduation ceremony. Our behavioral expectations are outlined below in great detail. Please respect the seriousness and importance of the ceremony by following these expectations.  Administration reserves the right to remove students from the ceremony if they are dressed improperly, exhibit inappropriate behavior, or for any other reasons that violate school rules.
