Meet Andrew Telander

Andrew Telander

September 01, 2009

I am the new health and physical education teacher at Stillman Valley High School. I am also serving as the head boy’s basketball coach. I graduated from Princeville High School in 1987 Western Illinois University in 1992.  I am married to Jessica (Ceisel) of Crystal Lake, IL and we have one child, a son named Carson who is nine months old.

I have had six years of full time teaching experience, mostly in physical education.  I am a fan of karaoke, movies, fitness, and college and high school sports.  My favorite college team is the University of North Carolina.

I was fortunate to serve as the head boy’s basketball coach at Crothersville, Indiana and West Lincoln, NC.  I was also the sophomore coach at Chapel Hill High School for five years and a member of the University of North Carolina Summer Basketball Camp Staff for eight summers.

My primary goal at Stillman Valley High School is to improve the depth and effectiveness of the health curriculum so that it impacts students’ lifetime habits.  I am also committed to building the boy’s basketball program to a consistent level of success through great effort, execution and detail.  I am excited about devoting my passion for teaching and coaching to the tradition of excellence at District 223.
