Challenge Day's mission is to provide youth and their communities with experiential workshops and programs that demonstrate the possibility of love and connection through the celebration of diversity, truth and full expression.

Our 9th grade students and students new to the district will experience the 6 1/2-hour Challenge Day program. Since Challenge Day is designed for 100 students, we will have two days of programming which includes every 9th grade student visiting Rock Valley College so that all students are exposed to a post-secondary environment. The Challenge Day program is created to build connection and empathy, and to fulfill our vision that every child lives in a world where they feel safe, loved, and celebrated. Challenge Day is more than a one-day program. At SVHS we have seen this programs extend beyond traditional anti-bullying efforts, building empathy and igniting a movement of compassion and positive change, known as the Be the Change movement.
